Mr. Tadanori Takada presents the paper cranes to Mr. Teruyuki Yokose
About 1,000 paper cranes and messages of peace from students of schools and institutes in Thimphu were put on display at the Nagasaki National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic bomb victims in Japan.
The paper cranes and messages were made and written last year during an education programme “Feel-GNH (happiness, peace and development), organised by Japanese and Bhutanese volunteers in Thimphu.
Mr. Tadanori Takada, who is an acupuncturist with the Institute for Traditional Medicinal Studies in Thimphu, took the cranes and peace messages to Japan and presented it to the chairman of Nagasaki foundation foundation for the promotion of peace, Mr. Teruyuki Yokose.
“While serving as symbols of mourning for those victimized by the atomic bombings, the cranes and messages also strongly communicate the wishes for peace of young people in a far away country, said Mr. Teruyuki Yokose.
It was also a memorial to 25 years old friendship between Japan and Bhutan.
