Bhutan Trekking horses cost raised

Starting from June 1, the porter charges will be increased from Nu. 100 to Nu. 150, the pony charges from Nu. 200 to Nu. 300 and pony with an escort charges from Nu. 350 to Nu. 450.

The resolution was passed by the National Assembly on June 8 after assembly members pointed out that although the 86th session of the National Assembly resolved to raise the porter-pony fees by January 1, 2007, it had not happened.
The finance minister, Lyonpo Wangdi Norbu, agreed that the ministry couldn’t immediately implement what was discussed and finalised in the 86th National Assembly session, because they had to do some study before implementing.

The minister said that they had to consider the travelling allowance before increasing the porter-pony fees, and this required a thorough study. Source: Kuenselonline
