This is to inform all concern that the government of the Kingdom of Thailand has announced that Don Muang Airport, the former international airport of Bangkok, will be reopened within 45days- probably end of March 2007. The reopening of the airport was requested by the Airport Authority of Thailand to ease the congestion at the new Suvarnabumi International Airport. The maximum capacity of the new airport has nearly been reached and repair work to runways and technical problems in the main buildings are affecting the smooth handling of the aircrafts and passengers.
The airport codes in Bangkok are established in the international GDS Systems as follows:
BKK : Suvarnabhumi International Airport
DMK: Don Muang International Airport.
However, the Association has consulted with Druk Air and is confirmed that the Druk Air flight will be operated as usual from the new Suvarnabumi International Airport.
