His Holiness the Je Khenpo awarded Tashi Khadhar to Lopen Rinchen Gyeltshen appointing him as the Gyalpoi Sungkhob.Lopen Rinchen Gyeltshen is from Isu Gewog in Haa. He joined the Pungthim Zhung Dratshang at the age of eight. After learning the basic religious practices till the age of 19, he studied under many renowned lams and scholars including His Holiness Je Tenzin Dhendup, His Late Holiness Je Geshay Gedhuen Rinchen, Dilgo Khentse Rinpoche and Drupwang Pema Norbu.
