Bhutan’s Under 19 cricket team lost to Maldives in the match played at Chiang Mai, Thailand yesterday.
Maldives batted first and were standing at a comfortable figure of 245 runs at eight wickets. The Bhutanese were all out by the time they reached 224 runs. In the other match, China lost to Saudi Arabia.
The Bhutanese team defeated China by 160 runs in the opening match on Saturday. Team captain Jigme Singye was declared man of the match. On the January 15, Bhutan will take on Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to BBS earlier, the Chief Executive officer of Bhutan Cricket Jigme Norbu said Under 19 national team comprises of some players from the Under 15 team.
Four teams from Bhutan, China, Maldives and Saudi Arabia are participating in the weeklong tournament.
The matches are being played in Round Robin format, which means each team gets to play at least once with the other team.
The Under 19 Challenge is being organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and hosted by Cricket Association of Thailand.
