40 journalists from print and broadcast stations in the capital, Thimphu attended a five days training on reporting, covering elections, campaigns and politics.
Journalists from the three news papers in the kingdom, the Bhutan Broadcasting Service, and three FM radio stations, Kuzoo FM, Radio Valley and Centennial completed a five day training on reporting on elections.
The training course on reporting, covering elections, campaign and politics was organized in Thimphu by Bhutanese Media Organizations and sponsored by UNDP, Thimphu.
Andrea Bernstein, political director of WNYC public radio of New York is one of the trainers.
Another trainer, Michael Putzel, writer and editor from Washington, DC said the media has an important role to play in the success of democracy.
The five day training concluded yesterday with the UNDP Resident Coordinator Nicholas Rossellini awarding certificates to the participants.
