Royal University of Bhutan introduces online admission

Students seeking admission for different programmes in colleges within the country will no longer have to travel to the capital now. The Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) will accept their admission papers online from March this year.

This means students will no longer have to travel to Thimphu or the respective colleges to submit their applications and other documents. The move has been welcomed by students. They said it will save them a lot of time and trouble.

The Registrar of the RUB said the online admission has advantages. Students can check what courses they are eligible for and the dates for reporting to the college.

They can also confirm whether they have accepted for the courses they have applied for by logging on to the university website.

The Registrar said students were given hands on training in schools last year so that they would be aware of the online admission procedures.
