TashiCell Bhutan’s second mobile company hits the market

The much-awaited second cellular network in the country, Tashi InfoComm Ltd., was launched on April 1.

The company has already planned out schemes for its users. For instance, first time vouchers are being recharged without any processing fees. During the promotional period, between April and September, SIM cards will be sold for Nu 100 with Nu 100 worth of free talk time.

It offers two types of prepaid services, My Time and Talk More, a postpaid service and a closed user group service respectively.

Prepaid My Time, which has a validity of four months needs to be activated for Nu 100 with Nu 100 worth of free talk time until September’s end after which the activation charges reduces to Nu 50, along with the free talk time, the worth of which drops to Nu 25.

While charges for Prepaid Talk More is the same as My Time, it has a longer SIM validity of six months. Both these services have added facilities, like missed call alerts and national roaming, with a few more facilities in the offing.

For postpaid services, activation charge is Nu 500, with which comes international roaming, after paying a security deposit of Nu 10,000 and Nu 100 worth of free SMS within the country for a month.

The Closed User Group has been designed to suit the needs of companies, which offer cheaper rates compared with normal packages. Only the number of users need to exceed 10 to avail this service.

Tashi InfoComm’s services are available in the six western dzongkhags of Thimphu, Paro, Punakha, Wangduephodrang, Haa and Chukha
