The Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigmi Y Thinley arrived back in Bhutan yesterday after attending the UN General Assembly in New York.
Upon arrival at the Paro International Airport the Prime Minister was received by cabinet ministers and other senior government officials.
The UN Resident Representative in Bhutan Nicholas Rosellini, representatives from the armed forces and international agencies and officials of Paro Dzongkhag administration were also there to receive the Prime Minister.
While in New York, the Prime Minister attended the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly and inaugurated the exhibition of Bhutan’s sacred art in New York City’s Rubin Museum of Art.
On the sidelines of the session, the Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigmi Y Thinley held bilateral discussions with the heads of governments of Australia, Iceland, Nepal, the Netherlands and South Korea.
Lyonchen Jigmi Y Thinley also met the UN Secretary General Ban-ki-Moon.
Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley was accompanied by the Foreign Minister Lyonpo Ugyen Tshering, the Cabinet Secretary Dasho Sherub Tenzin and other senior officials. Source: BBS
