ALL TOUR OPERATORS
1. Druk Air:
The Executive Committee Members of ABTO met with the Druk Air Management on 20th February 2008 and have come to the following decision: -
i) The time limit for electronic ticketing will remain as 24 hours till 31 March, 2008. In doing so, Druk Air have agreed on the following flexible modes of payment.
(a) A bank guarantee for the purchase of tickets will be accepted.
(b) 50% deposit for the purchase of the tickets will also be accepted. This request must be made as an official note to the Commercial Manager, Druk Air, Thimphu Branch.
ii) Payments for the above must be remitted in full and in applicable currency minimum 14 days prior to the date of travel of your clients.
iii) The above is only an interim measure until the customizations of the software is satisfactorily completed by the web based portal provider, the above will not be valid for all tickets issued with effect from 01 April 2008.
iv) The documentation fee of USD 25 for the electronic tickets will also not apply till 31 March 2008.
v) The existing cancellation and refund rules will remain unchanged.
vi) Winter schedule (2008-09) will be announced within this week and will remain same as before except for some changes in timing.
The Druk Air management would like to appeal all to kindly collaborate during the migration of system to E.T reservation. Druk Air would also like to inform that the changes in summer schedule were not intentional but due to last minute slot allocation by sector civil aviation.
For further clarifications/ assistance on the above and any other matters relating to Druk Air, Mr. Tshering Penjor, Commercial Manager has extended his availability at anytime.
2. Lhakhang Permits:- The issue has been highlighted to Hon’ble Prime Minister. The National Tourism Board will be deliberating on the issue tomorrow (26th February) at 10.00 AM. Will accordingly inform all tour operators on the decision.
