National Council member Dasho Karma Ura is resigning as a MP. He submitted his resignation letter to the Chairperson of the National Council today.
Dasho Karma Ura cited difficulties in following the proceedings of the parliament as one of the reasons for resigning.
The Chairperson, Namgye Penjore, said he has received and accepted the resignation. Dasho Karma Ura was one of the five eminent people appointed by His Majesty the King to the National Council.
The National Council Chairperson said since Dasho Karma Ura is His Majesty’s nominee to the National Council, a letter will have to be submitted informing His Majesty of the resignation.
