ALL TOUR OPERATORS
I. Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal
The Government of Nepal has issued a notification in regard to the collection of existing taxes applicable for passengers departing from Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal.
Details are as below:
1. Tourism Service Fee (TSF) of NER.565.00 for International departures: This fee was formerly collected by the purchase of a coupon upon departure at the airport.
With effect from 1st March 2009, the fee will now be collected at the time of ticketing. The amount collected must be inserted in the tax column under tax code ‘NQ’.
1. For local fare: BTN/INR 355.00 per passenger (NER565/1.6)
2. For US Dollar fare: US$ 8.00 to be collected.
The following categories are exempted from ‘NQ’ tax.
1. Infants under 2 years.
2. Airline Crew on duty.
3. Transit/Transfer passengers (24hours).
4. Involuntary rerouting e.g. due to technical problems or weather conditions.
5. Diplomats.
6. Nepali Nationals.
2. Passenger Service Charge: Collection of this charge will also be collected at the time of ticketing and is applicable for all passengers departing from Tribhuvan International Airport.
- For local fare: BTN/INR495.00 (NER 791)
- For US Dollar fare: US$11.00
II. Service Tax on ‘J’ Class tickets for flights originating from India
The existing Service Tax of 12.36% applicable to all Airway Bills issued from India and to ‘J’ class tickets for journey originating from India has been reduced to 10.3% (inclusive of Ed Cess) with effect from 24th February 2009.
Terms and conditions pertaining to Service Tax remain unchanged. The above is as per the notification received from the Government of India.
