Scramble: Drukpol’s Sonam Tenzin at his goalie’s rescue Yeedzin FC extended their undefeated record to five games in the second round of the A division national league, after a hard fought, but deserved, victory over Drukpol. They beat Drukpol 3-2.
Yeedzin took the lead in the 18th minute. Defender Kinley Wangchuk was at the right place at the right time, when midfielder Kinley Dorji swept in a cross to volley in the first goal.
Kinley Dorji then turned scorer just five minutes later. Winger Chencho’s attempt hit the woodwork, but the ball luckily fell at the foot of Kinley Dorji, who had the easiest job of a tap in. The first half ended 2-1.
Drukpol came back strong in the second half, but still needed the help of a Yeedizn defender to get their first goal. Striker Tshewang’s attempt hit the legs of a Yeedzin defender and the ball fell into the net. But Yeedzin restored their two-lead goal just three minutes after the own goal. Striker Kinga Thinley scored the third.
However, Drukpol gave a scare as striker Ugyen Tsheten pulled back one goal to get into the game. The final minutes saw frenzied attemps from Drukpol, but Yeedzin held onto the one-goal lead to maintain their positon on the top of the table. Source: Kuenselonline
