Bangladesh ambassador bids farewell to Bhutan

The ambassador of Bangladesh to Bhutan, Mr AKM Majibur Rahman Bhuiyan, called on the prime minister Lyonchhoen Jigmi Y Thinley yesterday afternoon to bid farewell.

Mr Bhuiyan will be leaving Bhutan this week to take up his new post as the ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan. He came to Bhutan in November 2009.

Ambassador Majibur Rahman Bhuiyan said that his tenure in Bhutan, although brief, was very important and that he is leaving Thimphu with many fond memories.

Lyonchhoen thanked the ambassador for a fruitful cooperation and collaboration and said that many historic events and developments had taken place during his tenure in Bhutan. Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina visited Bhutan twice during his tenure, and the bilateral trade agreement between the two countries had been renewed.

Lyonchhoen also congratulated him on his new posting to Japan.  Source: Kuenselonline
