The Prime Minister Loynchhoen Jigmi Y. Thinley said Dagana Dzongkhag has made remarkable progress in the overall 10th Five Year Plan developmental activities. He was speaking at the 10th Five Year Plan Mid-Term Review in Dagana.
The Prime Minister commended the efforts put in by the dzongkhag administration and the local leaders for the remarkable progress made in the tenth five year plan. He said he is confident that the tenth five year planned activities will be achieved.
The Dzongkhag, in two and half years, constructed almost 63 kilometres of farm road and 44 irrigation channels. Twelve Geog centres are connected with motor-able road. The dzongkhag has also achieved 93 percent of the Rural Water Supply scheme and 97 percent primary school enrollment.
The assessment was made mainly in farm road construction, education, health services, forestry, electricity and mobile coverage.
Prime Minister said Dagana Dzongkhag will no longer remain a remote dzongkhag after the tenth five year plan.
The review meeting was attended by the local leaders, dzongkhag officials, regional heads, and representatives from various agencies, secretaries and ministers. The next midterm review meeting will be held in Tsirang. Source: BBS
