Our trip to Bhutan was an adventure. We were introduced to a country and culture that is friendly and peaceful. The scenery was marvelous, the historic sites were unique, and the Buddhist dance festival visits with the Bhutanese people were certainly memorable.
One of our favorite guides was Namgay Dorji from Bhutan Majestic Travel. Namgay was very personable, with a great sense of humor and fun, proud of his country, pleased to show us everything, very knowledgeable of the history and culture of Bhutan and Buddhism, and easily answered our questions. He was perceptive of the needs of the group, whether older or younger, male or female, and was very accommodating to our needs and wants. Namgay arranged a special visit to a relative’s farm, for an inside look at a typical Bhutanese style farmhouse, seen all over the country.
We learned that Namgay was recently certified by the Tourism Council of Bhutan to lead trips, qualified to lead groups on wilderness treks through the Bhutanese mountains, forests and rivers. The certification involved a challenging 30 day qualification trek, monitored by experienced Swiss trek leaders
We toured Bhutan in a large group of thirty people, but whether touring or trekking, this is a destination worth visiting for a one-of-a kind travel experience. Our Trip to Bhutan was an Adventure
