Day 1: The flight to Paro takes you through the Plains of India to the mighty Himalayas. One can see breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountains. On the arrival at Paro International Airport, Our representative will receive you.

The drive to the hotels takes you through the scenic valley of Paro. Check in the Hotel and relax for a while.

After you are refreshed, the guide will brief you about the trip and the special Shaman programme. The Shamans are locally called as POWS for males and NELJORMAS for the females. The ritual takes about an hour and preparation extra. The POWS are use to cure the sick people in the old times and they are consulted today if the western medicines does not cure the patient. They get possessed by a deity and predict the fate of a patient. This ritual will be organized in a farm house and the family will be part of the ritual. Overnight in Hotel

Day 2: Paro sightseeing, Taktsang Hike:

After breakfast, drive to Ta Dzong, meaning a watchtower. It is located on a promontory overlooking the valley and the Dzong. The tower now houses the National Museums and has collections ranging from exquisite textiles to sacred Thangka, statues to utensils and stamps to ancient weapons. Drive to Ramthangka and begin the hike to the famous Tiger’s nest (Taktsang) Monastery. Legends say that in the 8th century, Guru Rimpoche flew here riding on the back of a tigress. The Temple is built on a huge granite cliff with about 800mts fall. The round trip hike would take about 4 hours. Lunch will be served in Taktsang cafeteria. Riding ponies will be arranged uphill if needed.

In the evening will visit a typical farmhouse to see the life style of farmer in Bhutan. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 3: Paro to Thimphu:

After Breakfast, the drive to Thimphu takes about an hour. The drive takes you through beautiful hamlets following the rivers of Paro and Thimphu. Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan has a population of about 90,000 people. Visit the Textile museum. There will be a personalized tour of the Museum and you can see the art of weaving the intricate designs. Bhutan is famous for beautiful textiles. Some of the designs take about 9 months to weave. Visit the institute of Traditional medicines and their library of high altitude herbal medicines. Lunch in the hotel.

After lunch, visit the Arts and crafts where children lean the 13 arts of Bhutan. You can see children learn traditional painting of Thangka, slate and wood curving and other arts. An evening tea will be arranged tea in a modern home. Today, you will be shown the preparation of the sand MANDALA and the making of Torma (Sacrificial Butter cakes) by the monks. In the evening, explore the town and there will be an hours long traditional cultural show by a dance troupe.

Day 4: Thimphu Sightseeing:

After breakfast, visit the Thimphu Dzong or Namgay’s home to see the art of making the TORMA – Traditional Butter Cake Offering to the local Deities. We will spend half of the day watching the monks make the TORMA. Then we will visit the Takin reserve. Takin is the national animal and looks very strange. Legend says that the Divine mad monk created Takin after eating a goat and a yak. It looks somewhere in between. Visit the National memorial Stupa built in memory of the late Third King. Today, lunch will be arranged at Namgay’s home so that you can watch the monks at work. The TORMA may be completed and you can take pictures and may keep the TORMA. Overnight in Hotel

Day 5: Thimphu  Sightseeing with Dochula Excursion:

After breakfast, drive to Dochula pass at 3150 mts altitude. On a clear day, you can see the whole range of Bhutan snow capped mountains. The pass itself is decorated with 108 beautiful Stupas and is a picturesque site. The drive also offers you amazing flora and Landscape. Lunch in the Hotel. After lunch you can do shopping or buying of Bhutanese souvenirs and drive back to Paro for the night. In Paro, we visit the 7th century Kyichu temple and we will light 1000 butter lamps thanking lord for the good trip and the things we got in life. The monk will conduct Lhabsang Tresuel, a ceremony clearing our negative energies and check in the hotel. Overnight in Hotel

Day 6: In the morning drive to Paro International Airport to catch onward journey.
